Dear Grade 12 Students and Families,
This year the provincial exam has not taken place as we expected. This is unfortunate and unexpected.
We've now heard that the Department of Education has requested that our ELA teachers create and administer an ELA final exam in lieu of the provincial exam.
GVC's grade 12s who intended to write the provincial exam this week will be expected to write an exam created by our GVC teachers.
Our ELA grade 12 exam will take place in the following way:
- Students will write the 3-hour exam over 3 days.
- The exams will take place during students' regularly scheduled ELA classes.
- Exams will take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. (May 29, 30, and 31)
Note: In order to allow time for our English teachers to accommodate this new directive, we will not hold ELA classes for Grade 12 students on Tuesday, May 28th.
